Stage Tour: NIN O2 - Alessandro Cortini's Rig

Four track cassette anyone?      13/06/14

Alessandro Cortini is one of my favourite electronic artists, his solo work with SONOIO is sublime, and he's one of the few people to get musical results with Buchla synthesizers. He's known for touring extensively with Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails, playing keyboards and bass as well as providing backing vocal duties: 2004-2008, 2013 to present.

NIN are currently on world tour playing arena size gigs to the faithful. They have a massive global following.

Trent Reznor is notoriously specific about how he likes things and Cortini's quirky perspective on technology clearly suits his philosophy. Our reporter Edd Butterworth caught up with Alessandro when they played at London's O2 Arena in Docklands - its a massive venue. We were given exclusive access to his keyboard rig and discovered some real surprises..

NIN have now left the European leg of their tour and are now deep in the Canada/USA leg. For information about gigs:

I always expect to see a charcoal colored Microwave XTk but those were auctioned off a long time ago. Dave Smith must be happy for the plug.

Does anyone know what drum pads those are? I am looking for a solid set for my Nord Drum (I am not a drummer!) ;-)
