Over the past 12 years Paul Nolan has worked in almost every facet of the music industry. Since finishing his course at SAE Institute he has worked with some big names in music industry; Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Theivery Corporation... to name but a few.
He has a vast experience in different disciplines ranging from artist development, DJing, tour management and more recently working on sound design and film scores.
We were very interested to find out exactly how some of the aspects of production from a dance music standpoint could translate into the film score world.
Paul was more than happy to deliver as he outlined some of the tools he uses on a daily basis when working on both film scores and his music productions.
He then gave us a breakdown of his new remix for the Mexican duo Climbers. Paul took this pretty standard house track and broke it down into an expansive and thought provoking piece. Re-imagining the original's synth arpeggios and textures to give it a tense, dramatic, late night feel.
