The SXSW event in Austin Texas has become increasingly massive over the last few years. We challenge you to find a larger gathering of hipsters media/new media/musicians/film makers/social media startups on the planet.

It also has a reputation of being extremely challenging to the liver, with it being a week-long party as far as we can tell.

Adding to the mix  is the new Synth Space - an event that enhances the already popular Music Gear Expo at the Austin Convention Centre. As we understand it this will consist of a space entirely dedicated to synthesizers - we have in our minds a giant synth petting zoo - whats not to like?

Actually here are the details:

The Music Gear Expo celebrates six years in 2015 with a host of new offerings. In addition to the much loved expo portion, the show will feature a number of special activations including: the Stompbox, Shred Shed and the brand new Synthesizer Space plus the Gear Lounge, Gear Expo Store and Flatstock Stage.

Open to all registrants, showcasing artists and the general public, the Expo has become the key destination for musicians, buyers, gear and tech aficionados at SXSW. It is located adjacent to the popular Flatstock Poster Show on Level 1 of the Austin Convention Center. 

The SXSW Music Gear Expo hosts a unique range of companies, from established names in the industry to independently owned up-and-comers. View the 2015 exhibitors.

As its open to the public, you wont have to shell out the $895 + attendance price, though you might want to take a packed lunch, the streets are paved with long queues for food and drink and drunken yoof. Sounds like a blast.
