The new Akai MPC Touch has taken the MPC format to a new level- with the addition of a full colour 7" touchscreen, it offers more hands on control of the MPC Studio software (Standalone and Plug-in).

With the same 16 RGB pads (velocity/pressure sensitive) you still get the familiar pad grid and 16 Q-controls - 4 banks of four. With the built in USB (2in, 2 out) soundcard you can use it as the hub of  your setup, but the touchscreen is designed to let you forget about the computer screen while being creative.

As usual the MPC Touch comes with over 20,000+ loops hits and melodic samples from Sample Tools, MVP Loops, Prime Loops SONiVoX and Tool Room to get you started.

Akai's MPC expert Andy Mac is genuinely pretty excited about it. He dropped in to show us what it can do, and we can confirm he didn't look at the computer screen once.

We'll be taking a look at the MPC Touch in our own review shortly, so if you have any questions, post them int he comments.
