April will see Yamaha taking their recently unveiled Montage synthesizer on a UK-wide tour with the keyboardist Josh Phillips. They say that the instrument was presented to the press and a host of top players in London recently, with many claiming Montage takes synthesizers to a new level.

Josh is currently keyboard player with Procol Harum and his many credits and collaborators include Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend.

The tour kicks off on 18th April and travels to 11 locations from Eastbourne to Glasgow. Yamaha says that these are 'not to be missed' events for anyone interested in music production, serious synthesizers and sound design. They tell us that those attending will see just what Montage is capable of in the hands of a professional player. Here's more details in Yamaha's own words...

Each event will feature Josh as well as Yamaha product specialists demonstrating Montage and showcasing the entire sonic and creative capability of this stunning new-generation instrument. There will also be a chance to get hands-on with Montage and check out the great new features.

Montage is the new Yamaha flagship synthesizer and raises the bar for serious synthesis, offering 10x the waveform capacity of Yamaha's award-winning MOTIF XF, and, uniquely, combining Yamaha's powerful FM-X and AWM2 technologies for unprecedented power and control. Quick and creative sound shaping is easy via the new 'Super Knob' function, making Montage the perfect partner for studio or stage. For full details visit www.yamaha.com/montage

There's even a chance to win a Yamaha reface as all guests will be entered into a free prize draw!

Yamaha's Chris Irvine comments, "This is a fantastic opportunity to meet Montage and experience this amazing new synthesizer in the hands of one of the UK's top keyboard players. We are delighted to be joined by Josh Phillips – a long-time user of Yamaha synths – and look forward to partnering with some of our key dealers to put on a great show."

Here's some reaction from top players on their first meeting with Montage:

Luke Smith (George Michael/BB King/Eric Clapton): "Well, well, well, what can I say? You gone and done it again, Yamaha! An amazing bit of kit ... the possibilities are endless."

Ty Unwin (Composer/Sound designer): "I have a feeling that one will be entering my fold! Gorgeous!"

Howard Jones (Singer/Songwriter/Keys): "Love the FM renaissance!"

Josh Philips (Procol Harum): "Montage is a 23rd Century keyboard – crazy performance possibilities!"
