Also today Akai announced the availability of the MPC Live - a smaller footprint MPC with 2GB of onboard ram, 20GB SSD, 2xUSB host ports and Li Battery for up over 4hrs of mains free operation. We know, we shot a video last week - coming soon.

As with the MPC X, the MPC Live runs MPC V2.0 natively and can also be switched to run as a controller - effectively making it an MPC Touch should you want to work on a host computer running MPC V2.0.

This means you can also work on projects in either environment and open them in each - though the MPC Live wont run 3rd party plugins of course.

You can run up to 8 stereo audio tracks, plus up to 64 stereo voices as well as the new clip launch functions. The price is £799 UK making it pretty competitive.
