AmpTrack Technologies has announced the release of its free, new public beta of its app, HumBeatz. They tell us that this cloud-based, music-making application allows users to simply hum, whistle or beatbox and turn those sounds and song ideas into a musical instrument for creating musical parts, loops, stems or song sketches.

Bil Bryant, CEO of AmpTrack Technologies, told us, "HumBeatz is a great way for non-musicians to easily participate in the music creation process and for musicians to save and check out an idea when away from their instrument. We are still developing it, but we want as many people as possible to try the free online beta that contains machine learning algorithms; that will help us improve the product."

Here's more details from AmpTrack Technologies...

HumBeatz is a 4-track loop creator with pitch and beat detection that works directly in a Chrome web browser. In Hum Mode, the user can vocalize a melody or bass line and assign it to one of more than 100 General MIDI instruments available in the included virtual keyboard. Humbeatz detects the pitch and converts it into MIDI note data that can be played back. In Beatz Mode, the user can select from eight drum kits and eight percussion kits––for a total of 192 sounds––then easily create recorded rhythm parts by beatboxing. HumBeatz automatically detects and converts the beatbox sounds to percussion instruments.

Additionally, HumBeatz offers sync and quantization, and two effects plug-ins with eight pre-sets each, so recorded loops sound like professional recordings. Parts, notes and sound assignments can also be manually changed in the app. Recordings can also be further refined by saving and importing work into AmpTrack technologies' Amped Studio, a full-fledged, free online DAW, or exporting to the desktop.
