You Need To Hear Tara Bush Cover Sabbath's War Pigs

US Minimal and visceral      09/07/19

Tara Busch - the LA based electronic musician, singer and songwrite just got in touch to let us know about her latest monthly cover - of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs". An unlikely choice I'm sure you'll agree, but Ms Busch gives it a visceral treatment.

The Oberheim’s sequencer loops menacingly over a thick drone provided by the ARP. The high vocal (which mirrors Tony Iommi’s guitar riff from the original) is sung through the MS20’s External Signal Processor. Finally, the crunchy, lo-fi style vocal is created with a Bastard Electronics BM-88 microphone.

Using just an Arp Odyssey, Oberheim 2-voice SEM and an MS20 which is used to process the voice using pitch tracking and input processing. A technique also used to great effect by Goldfrapp in "Lovely Head".

If you want to hear more, Tara Busch has an active Patreon thing going on where you can get to be part of her growing fan community with lots of rewards, vinyl single releases, download stems and more.
