What are the 50 Greatest Ambient Albums?

In times of stress and high intensity, ambient music can play a role in making your surroundings and state of mind more tranquil and restful. There are so many ambient artists out there, luckily Pitchfork have put together a list of their top 50 greatest ambient albums. 

Amongst the list you'll find Brian Eno, Aphex Twin, Stars Of The Lid and lots more -  a personal favorite is Harold Budd, who sadly died in December 2020. Here's a track of his to whet your appetite. 

Ambient music is a great accompaniment for work, study, meditation and contemplation. Pitchfork have made two playlists available for Apple Music and Spotify to give you a taster of one track from each album.
