Samplicity has released Berlin Studio, an audio plug-in that they say gives you full access to the acoustics of a famous German studio where, for decades, classical albums were recorded as well as many highly acclaimed sample libraries. This is what they have say about it...
The signature sound of this studio – approximately the same size as Abbey Road One – has been captured by recording special signals emitted from the main orchestral stage positions and processing them into acoustical "fingerprints", also known as impulse responses (IRs).
Meticulous post-pro editing has resulted in a very consistent and accurate set of IRs in True-Stereo format. If you are already familiar with previous IRs from Samplicity, you know they are rated among the very best, with low signal-to-noise ratios and excellent stereo imaging.
Berlin Studio is not only a great companion for working with Berlin sample libraries, but with its flexible handling of microphone perspectives, pre-delays, early reflections and reverb tails it also allows you to smoothly mix and match the positioning of virtual instruments from different vendors in a unique acoustic environment.
