Antelope Audio has made a new addition to their portfolio and presented it at NAMM 2023. Momchil Shishkov, the representative from Antelope Audio, introduced the Atlas i8, a three-way active monitor speaker with an isobaric design that combines two woofers in a sealed space, resulting in a smaller-sized speaker with accurate and low-frequency performance. The mid and high frequencies have a coaxial design, making it easy to position vertically or horizontally. The speakers come with features such as delay offset, digital input, and the best converters working on 192 kHz with their acoustically focused clocking technology. All of Antelope Audio's R&D and development technologies from their 15 years of exploration of digital audio have been put into the speaker, along with classic acoustic engineering. The speaker comes in a sealed 18 millimeters MDF wood that is sturdy, reducing resonance potential issues that some lighter boxes might cause.
The Atlas i8 is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2023, with an estimated price of around $4,500 a pair. This price is approximate for now and may change. Antelope Audio has put a lot of R&D into the speaker, and the results seem promising. The Atlas i8 looks to be an exciting addition to their portfolio and a welcome one for those looking for a smaller-sized speaker with excellent performance.
