Roland AIRA Compact S1 - Sonic LAB Review

US Small, yet surprisingly good.      22/06/23

We take a look at the newest member of the Roland AIRA Compact range - the S1 Tweak Synth - its a Volca sized 4 voice digital synthesizer - using the well regarded ACB method of emulation, based on the SH-101 but with a bunch of additional features:

  • On-board battery
  • Four-voices
  • Additional oscillator modes - Draw and Chop
  • Sequencer
  • FX
  • Motion Control - via physical movement

It's an impressive little machine, you get a lot for the money (£169/$199).
