Bristronica 2023: U-He - Civilisation - Wiretap - Sloopy

US Urs gives us a look at some new modules and prototypes      02/10/23

Always a pleasure to catch up with Urs from U-He, and while he may have brought his signature sense of humor, he also unveiled some intriguing hardware prototypes. First up, he showcased "Sloopy," a module that offers a unique twist on envelopes. With three different types of envelopes--six-stage, three-stage, and two-stage--users can combine them in various ways, setting slopes, utilizing CV control, and even implementing velocity.

Next on the hardware horizon is "Cen2rion," a module that emphasizes flexible input selection and mixing. Featuring six inputs and two outputs, it allows for different mixes of the same input, which can be either discrete or continuous. While Urs humorously admitted he's still figuring out how to operate it, Cen2rion promises to add innovative mixing capabilities to modular rigs. Additionally, U-He teased a filter module with heavy overdrive, multiple filter modes, and auxiliary inputs for more complex sound shaping.  And let's not forget, there's a modular oscillator in the works, bridging the gap between their software synths and the hardware realm. So, while U-He may not be in a rush, they're certainly keeping the modular community eagerly awaiting their next creations.
