SampleScience Releases Cazio Sound Odyssey

US A virtual recreation of the 1981 Casio 1000p home keyboard      10/10/23

SampleScience tells us that Cazio Sound Odyssey is a virtual recreation of the Casio 1000p, a 1981 home keyboard that promises a sound bank of 1000 presets. They say that this claim was based on the fact that the 1000p has 10 preset sounds that you can mix and tweak to create up to 1000 "new" sounds, but the reality is that most of the 10 presets all sound like organs, which they believe makes it the perfect candidate to produce dungeon synth and other lo-fi meditative music.

A spokesperson told us, "Casio Sound Odyssey has all the 10 presets from the original keyboard and adds 4 waveforms that have been extracted from the same instrument. It also features the electric background noise and the clicking sound when you power on this beast!"

Features:

  •     25 presets
  •     14 Cazio waveforms that you can mix and tweak
  •     Distortion, Delay, Chorus, Reverb
  •     Multi-LFO
  •     Highpass/Lowpass filter
  •     Electric noise/power click from an original Cazio keyboard from the 80s
  •     Lowpass/highpass filter
  •     Low-CPU usage
  •     Amplitude range controls
