The Chompi Club Sampler certainly got the Kickstarter promo right - the portable toy-like sampler got to a $million bucks on its original Kickstarter campaign in April 2023 pretty swiftly. Clearly our appetite for portable low resolution sampling gizmos is unquenchable. It uses a tape paradigm for recording and playback of samples and is based on the Daisy Platform from Electro-Smith - which is a dedicated audio computing and synthesis ecosystem.
It also uses the old-school clackety style keys found in durable interfaces for industrial and flight equipment which gives it a desirable vibe.
The good news is that some backers are now receiving their units and Chompi will be available to buy from https://chompiclub.com/ in January 2024 priced at $599.
