British microphone brand Sontronics is entering a new era following its recent acquisition by audio solutions company, 2B Heard Limited. Here's their press statement...

The Sontronics brand was founded in 2004 and launched to the world in 2005 by engineer and microphone designer Trevor Coley, who, together with his wife and co-owner Lisa, built Sontronics into a globally recognised brand. Their products are used and loved by artists, producers, engineers, studios, students and home users around the world, including countless famous supporters from Ed Sheeran to Abbey Road Studios to chef-musician Jamie Oliver.

"Following years of amazing growth and exciting achievements," states founder Trevor Coley, "Lisa and I felt the time was right for Sontronics to fulfil its potential through the fresh vision of new owners. After 30 years in the music industry and 20 years building the brand and team to where they are today, I wanted to find the right people who would show Sontronics the same love that we have at the same time as pushing it forward and expanding its reach. The team at 2B Heard are hugely respectful of what we've achieved and also understand what the brand represents to its loyal users, and I'm confident that through their skills and knowledge they will reach new markets and carry the brand into the future."

2B Heard Limited is a well established UK-based company whose owners, Sam Nankivell and Dave Wooster, have decades of experience in music production, engineering, live sound and commercial sound between them. 2B Heard is renowned for its premium audio installations for corporate, hospitality, house of worship and high-end residential clients. Together with its associated businesses, 2B Toured and 2B Wired, it is also engaged in arranging tours and providing bespoke cabling solutions for high-profile clients worldwide.

Sontronics will continue to operate from its HQ in Poole, UK, where the existing team hand-build hundreds of microphones every month, while Lisa and Trevor will remain closely linked to Sontronics, representing the brand at events, working on new product development and nurturing key relationships with international distributors and VIP user events.
