Muse Receptor is a stand-alone VST player. The thing is, that this one is designed to handle the rigors or the road and still be at home in the studio. Many of us are still nervy (and rightly so) of taking our poorly built CPUs on the road with us. Having recently been involved in putting a band on the road myself – I understand the pitfalls only too well. The Receptor is dedicated to audio work and wont be any use on the road for game playing or emails. This is a good thing. What it does to is to allow you play innumerable plug-ins and VSTi’s via it’s dedicated hardware. Still not convinced, well thankfully, Muse Research have gathered in impressive roster of artists who actually use the stuff to sign it’s praises.
