Yep, the Korg Minilogue review is finally here - it took us a while to get hold of one, we understand that the sales have rather exceeded expectation - unsurprising when you consider that the Minilogue is a four voice analogue poly synth at under $500.
But alongside all the excitement, there have been questions, we take a look at the envelopes - there has been a lot of talk about clicking and odd retriggering behaviour. We also understand that Korg have this as a priority firmware update, so expect this to be sorted quite soon.
Overall, we were impressed with the instrument, it's sonically pretty broad and enables you to create a wide variety of usable, inspiring sounds.
Obviously there are shortcomings, - no realtime Sequencer transpose no Arpeggiator latch, delay is pretty noisy, but in an instrument of this price, it's hard to imagine there wouldn't be.
Bottom line is it's both sonically inspiring and fun to use. It's a keeper.
They will sell very well, and quite rightly, people were screaming for an affordable analog poly and Korg have given it to them.
