Cool headline - I couldn’t resist, but the Future Music is not the august volume published by megacorp Future Publishing, but the extremely cool, funky audio store found on Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. Our roving reporter Shorn Rah managed to find something work related to do even on his precious day off while visiting LA, much to the disappointment of his lady friend. Being an un-repentant gear junkie himself, Shorn found himself in used gear heaven in the hallowed rooms of Jack Watersons store. In return for a brief statement on-camera where Jack professes his love for Sonicstate.com, we shot a tour of the store which is packed with rare and odd technology, much from last century - not limited to but including:
Synthesizers, keyboards, effects, mixers, outboard, guitars and basses, amplification and electronic test equipment. I guess most of us will never get the chance to visit so get your Kleenex ready (I don’t know about you, but I have a cold). There is a website, but you’ll not find a great deal to browse there apart from the address and phone number – enjoy.
