NAMM 2023: Black BT - SusEx

Sonicstate caught up with Satish of Black BT who showcased their new combination pedal, the Black BT SusEx. It's an expression pedal, sustain pedal, drum trigger pedal, note trigger pedal, and assignable to anything that MIDI can be assigned to.

The pedal also features BLE MIDI and an iOS Android app that enables connectivity through MIDI and USB MIDI. The SusEx can be used with a wired connection or wirelessly over BLE, and Satish showed us that latency levels are extremely low.

For film composers in particular, the SusEx provides a unique advantage in creating orchestral scores, as the pedal's dynamics become part of the performance during programming. The Black BT SusEx is available for pre-order on the company's e-commerce site and will begin shipping on June 1st.
