NAMM 2023: Tracktion - Waveform 12.5

US Waveform gets an update using AI to remix video and audio      15/04/23

Tracktion has unveiled the new features in their Waveform 12.5 update. Daniel demonstrated the free update for all Waveform 12 users, including new video and remix tools. With the video feature, users can now drag and drop multiple files into an edit, perform basic edits directly on video clips, and extract audio from existing video clips. A new feature, split to stems, allows users to extract elements such as drums, bass, vocals, or other parts and process them individually. Daniel demonstrated how to split stems and rescore a movie trailer.

The update also includes improvements for exporting video, allowing users to export directly to 4K and render and replace audio tracks in video. DJ stroke remix tools is another feature in the Waveform 12.5 update. The new tools include a two-channel DJ mixer, a four-channel DJ mixer, and smart mixers for smooth transitions. Daniel demonstrated how to drag any audio file directly into an edit, adjust the size of the clip, and have it sync perfectly with the project tempo. The split to stems feature allows users to analyze and identify different sections of a track quickly.
