UK tech news site The Register has reported the leaking of details of Creative's new digital entertainment system on a Russion Web site. Part of what looks like a company-only presentation of the imminent Creative SoundBlaster Audigy sound system have appeared at http://audigy.boom.ru/. If the details turn out to be true this represents either a serious breach of company security, or a neat piece of guerilla marketing by Creative. (If you're all cynical like us). So what is this Audigy thing anyway? The documents on the site modestly describe it as "the most advanced digital audio entertainment centre". It appears to be aimed at home audio visual fans, supports Dolby Digital 5.1 and Surround Sound, plus Windows Media Audio and MP3. In addition to the hardware and the software that controls it, Audigy appears also to refer to the sound chip that powers the beast, the EMU10K2. Audigy will apparantly ship with Cubasis music composition software, and will come in several different bundles, aimed at different types of users, including gamers, MP3 and online music listeners, and home music makers. Prices will range from $99 to $199.
