The Powercore 01 is the first virtual synth in the new "PowerCore Instruments" format that takes advantage of the processing power of the TC|Works PowerCore DSP card. It has been a little delayed , I grant you but you can now get your hands on this monosynth plug-in for free. Modelled on the Roland SH-101 - or so it looks to this user, it packs a punch. If you have a Powercore card you can download yours for (you'll need to have version 1.5 installed - see review) right now.
As an open platform, TC PowerCore supports 3rd party plugins also. The WALDORF D-Coder goes beyond classic Vocoder concepts and is based on the synthesis and DSP technology used in the popular Waldorf Q and MicroQ synthesizers, now made accessible to TC PowerCore users from inside any VST-compatible sequencer.
Currently evaluating the platform, ACCESS will be providing PowerCore users with a virtual synth for the PowerCore later this year.
TC POWERCORE 01 is available for both Mac and PC. Registered users can download the synth on the TC Works website or directly by using the link
