A deceptively simple design, the 40h features 64 backlit buttons in 8 rows of eight, buttons can be configured as toggles, radio groupings, sliders, or organized into more sophisticated systems to monitor and trigger sample playback positions, stream 1-bit video, interact with dynamic physical models, and play games. The 40h connects via USB and talks serial, midi, and open sound control (OSC is the same protocol that the Lemur touch-screen offers). All software and firmware is open source. With the ultimate aim of enabling a community of shared exploration. There’s a nice demo of the unit available on the website.
