Launched earlier in the year, the Digimax FS has 8 Class A mic preamps and 8 analog outs plus ADAT (SMUX for 8 channels of 96kHz/24bit), wordclock and more.

With routing flexibility for many applications, you can record 8 inputs, route them out of the direct analog outs and send the ADAT signal straight to your DAW – obviously, Presonus would lke to think that you will be using one of their Firewire interfaces such as the FireStudio for a full Presonus system, but it will hook up to any ADAT equipped interface. The wordclock I/O adds extra system integration, plus you get an insert point on every channel for use of any additional outboard processing prior to the signal hitting the A to D conversion.
