I'm disappointed that Elektron have abandoned the 'District 9' look of their early Octatrack promo. I think the tutorials would be more effective if staged as a hostile interrogation between a police state type and a DJ because, you know, DJs lead the rebellion in Elektron's Max Headroom inspired dystopia: "You expect me to believe you don't know anything about manual sampling? LIAR!" The effects of an operation - truncating a sample, for instance - should be dramatized with exploding heads or scientists dissecting slimy, mucous covered alien lifeforms. And the footage should be color graded so that everything looks green and unhealthy. Maybe then they'll sell a few Octatracks.
